Terms of Use

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement to use Chatsoon. By using it, you confirm that you are. You may not use Chatsoon if we have previously removed you from the service.

Your account

You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email address. Keep your email account secure, because you are responsible for what happens on your Chatsoon account. Never share your sign-in code with anyone. If you think someone else has used your account, email [email protected].

Give accurate information about yourself. Don't create an account for someone else or pretend to be someone you're not.

Your content

You own the content you add to Chatsoon, including your profile, contacts, notes, tags and photos ("your content"). You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, display and transmit your content only as needed to run Chatsoon for you, for example to show your public profile to the people you share it with, or to read a card photo when you ask us to. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from backups that roll off automatically.

You are responsible for your content and must have the right to add it. When you save details about other people, you are responsible for having a lawful reason to keep them and for using them respectfully and in line with the privacy laws that apply to you.

Your public profile can be seen by anyone who has its link or scans your QR code, so don't put anything on it that you want to keep private.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Chatsoon to:

• post or send content that is illegal, hateful, discriminatory, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, violent, defamatory or otherwise objectionable;
• harass, bully, stalk, threaten, intimidate or abuse anyone;
• impersonate any person or organisation, or misrepresent who you are or who you work for;
• send spam, scams, phishing or unsolicited bulk messages, including through the Connect form;
• collect other people's information without their permission, or scrape, crawl or harvest data from Chatsoon;
• infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy or other rights;
• upload malware, or try to break, overload, probe or get around the security of Chatsoon;
• break any law, or help anyone else do any of these things.

Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users

Chatsoon has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Content or behaviour that breaks the acceptable use rules above is not allowed anywhere in Chatsoon, including on public profiles, in Connect form messages and in anything else you share with other people.

When we find, or are told about, content or behaviour that breaks these rules, we remove the content and eject the user responsible from Chatsoon, without notice. We may report serious cases to the authorities.

Reporting and blocking

• Report: every public profile, every connection and every Connect form message has a Report option. Choose a reason, add details if you like and send it. You don't need an account to report a public profile on the web.
• Block: when you're signed in, you can block anyone from their public profile or, if you're connected, from their contact page. Blocking removes them from your contacts and stops them from connecting with you in the app.
• Connect form messages come from people who don't have a Chatsoon account, so they can't be blocked. Delete any you don't want, and report abusive ones.
• We review every report within 24 hours. When content or a user breaks these Terms, we remove the content and eject the user.
• You can also report a problem by emailing [email protected].

Card scanning

Card scanning uses AI to read the text in your photo. It can make mistakes, so check the details before you save them.

The service

We work hard to keep Chatsoon available and useful, but we may change, add or remove features, and the service may sometimes be unavailable. Chatsoon is free to use today. If we ever introduce paid features, we'll tell you first and you won't be charged unless you choose to pay.

Our intellectual property

Chatsoon, including its name, logo, design and software, belongs to Moshi Concepts Inc. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the apps and website as they are intended to be used. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, sell or resell any part of Chatsoon, except where the law allows it.

Termination

You can stop using Chatsoon and delete your account at any time: open the Me tab in the app, or sign in at https://chatsoon.app and open the Me tab, then tap Delete account. You can also email [email protected] and ask us to delete it.

We may suspend or end your account, or remove your content, at any time if you break these Terms, if the law requires it, or if we need to protect our users or Chatsoon. The sections of these Terms that by their nature should continue after your account ends, including the disclaimers and limitation of liability, will continue to apply.

Disclaimers

Chatsoon is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that Chatsoon will be uninterrupted, error free or secure, or that information from other users, the Connect form or card scanning is accurate.

You are responsible for your dealings with the people you meet through Chatsoon.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Moshi Concepts Inc. and its directors, employees and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue, goodwill or business opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of Chatsoon. Our total liability for any claim related to Chatsoon is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and USD 100.

Some places don't allow these limits, so they apply to you only as far as the law allows. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded.

App stores

If you downloaded Chatsoon from the Apple App Store, you also agree that these Terms are between you and Moshi Concepts Inc., not Apple; that Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Chatsoon; that Apple is not responsible for any claims about Chatsoon, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet legal requirements, and claims that it infringes someone else's intellectual property; and that Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

Your use of Chatsoon must also follow the terms of the app store you downloaded it from.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll post the new version on this page and change the date at the top, and we'll let you know in the app or by email about significant changes. If you keep using Chatsoon after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.

General

These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Chatsoon. If any part of these Terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a right, we haven't given it up. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
